Homesave started out in Auckland, New Zealand as a one man band by founder John Hettig who knows all about struggles that comes with losing a family home. John and his family had to move 10 times in as many years following the collapse of his business in 1990. In 2001 the mother of a small family cried for John Hettig's help in rescuing them from their eviction. Following the success of helping this family to keep their home the word got out and he was inundated with families seeking his help in saving their homes from a mortgagee sale / foreclosure. A business grew from these small beginnings and today, Mr Hettig can boast of having rescued dozens of families throughout New Zealand.
